Pretty sure testosterone levels can't fluctuate that rapidly, even with steroids. And Fluttershy didn't suddenly have her voice drop a couple octaves or increase her muscle mass.

To be honest, the only connection between flight ability and sex drive is an animation oversight (Rainbow Dash's wingboner in Over A Barrel), but Fluttershy definitely flew around a lot more when she was raging around being Flutterbitch.

Yeah, pretty much the "flight=aggression" is the canon part of it, and the "flight=sex drive" is the fanon part of it, based on the whole wingboner thing. But for my part, I now consider the first half of that to be confirmed.

In more seriousness, though, it does make the anatomy a whole lot harder, since it becomes obvious that the feathers on a pegasus are quite far separate from the feathers we're used to. Perhaps they're small, furry appendages similar to fingers that just happen to be able to catch air. That, or their magical nature allows the wings to act as such without actually needing to be particularly aerodynamic.

I appear to have started something...

Now I'm stuck wondering just what the physical structure for the pseudo-feathers would be like. Presumably, they're going to be sort of flat and have some kind of structural support, probably bone. So basically, long, flat-ish, furry fingers. Dunno if there'd be joints, much less moving ones, but presumably there would at least be hinge joints at the point where the pseudo-feather met the wing.
