Oh, I just write the depression fics because they're the easiest to write. I had a hell of a time writing even Not Worth A Bit, and it's still barely half-decent. But I can churn out depressing fics like it ain't no thang.

As for turning my life into a story... It'd be the type of story I wouldn't want to read, where the main character thinks about committing suicide but doesn't because he's too depressed to even summon up the energy to do it.

I don't know about anyone else, but finding religion would make me more likely to indulge my suicidal side.

I'm only trying to give him an option that he possibly hasn't had yet, besides genuinely caring for him.

Interesting fact. Religion comes from the Latin word ligio, 'to bind'. It's the same word that lictor comes from. The lictor was a state-appointed bodyguard for high officials. Fun stuff.

Incidentally, it has helped me in the past to think of it this way: Yes, suicide may seem like a "better" option in the short run. In the long run, however, there is an infinitely greater chance for your life and circumstances to improve if you are alive. If you're dead, you're dead.

Strawberry Shortcake is worse the more I see of it. It's good good animation, voice acting, and actually some nifty music, but... fails at getting across its themes. Not very good at putting forth believable conflicts.
