The archers obviously are using explosive-tipped arrows. I think those could take out a helicopter.

Heh, reminds me of Empire Earth II. If you played a skirmish you could set each player to start at a different age, so I had 7 computer players using clubmen and rock slingers against my jetpack infantry and stealth bombers. Funny shit.

I slaughter the AI in Civ. I've never played against human players, so I dunno how I fair against them.

Anyhow, I put all of my money into R&D, so I'm not too much of a deal in the early game. Then... BAM! Libraries and harbors galore, new tech every other turn. I usually hit tanks by the time the second-best civ technology-wise is in early medieval.


NAZI TACTICS!

I need to try one of the older Civ games. I was so young when I played IV I can hardly remember it. I remember that my dad has III on one of the old computers we had, but if you could see the room I'm sitting in then you would realize it is full of old-as-hell computers and it is likely that modern calculators have more processing power than they do. God, I can't imagine what memories I would bring back if I managed to bring a few of these back to life...

I did play Alpha Centauri for a bit but never got back around to it. Some say it's one of the better Civ games despite technically not being a Civ game.

I've played 1, but the floppy disk 'mysteriously' went missing (read 'my father got rid of it because it was too old'. He's also the one who got me into the whole Civ thing, so...). I've played all of them.

3 I can't say I've played much of, but I'd pass on it just because the interface was too clunky (and yet I play DF...).

1 was okay. Not my favourite, but okay.

II and V are on the same level. I'll play either of them, but I don't go out of my way to do so (sorry, can't explain the almost 400 hours played of Civ V.)

IV is the gem of them all. If you only play one of them, play IV. I actually understood the mechanic in that one, as opposed to Civ 2 (I still don't know why I kept winning Civ 2).

Played like 6 hours of Dungeons of Dredmor and then got killed by the man himself. At least I got achievement for that but RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

The only way to play TBS or RTS against the AI is to crank the difficulty up to Cheating Bastard.

I play on easy cause Im quite bad at them.

EDIT2: Actually, why not name the cities as equestrian locations? I just need to find enough names.

Woah, I built ponyville next to English knowing it would be fought over many times, but I wasnt expecting that it would be taken and retaken 3 times, or that I would wipe it out of the game after the population is destroyed after continuous battles.

Circled with orange is former location of Ponyville 6 town. Circled with white is town I tried to capture with like 100 musketeers and catapults and FAILED. Truly, I am terrible at this game.

Okay. First things first. You know how to get your unit stats?

If you don't, in the build menu, next to the name, there should be some numbers, like 6/1/1 for the catapult (if I recall correctly).

Attack/Defence/Move

Also remember that when your units are stacked up together, one loss and they all get destroyed.

First step should be to surround the city with your units, laying siege to it. Then attack with Catapults and move your Musketeers on to defend them.

I've been playing some X3: Albion Prelude recently.

Doubletoast: I have a nice little company going on right now. I have 3 Mercury ships in service which are always following me because I can't trust them to go alone with all these Xenon and Pirates and whatnot running around. They've caused me much grief sometimes of which I had to reload an autosave because of.

For example, after I'd been trading cahoona meatsteaks and energy cells for a bit I bought another load of steaks... Then had nowhere to sell them to for a higher than 5 credit profit. Out of goddamn nowhere the market was flooded with meatsteaks. I had just jumped in to another sector and was looking at the sector map to identify a potential place to sell my steaks when my 3 freighters jump in one-by-one and rear end me one at a time and explode. I took no hull damage, just a bunch of shield damage because I was using the Centaur given to you during the Argon war plot. I reloaded from my last save, found somewhere to sell my steaks, saved then just stopped playing for the night there.

The Argon territories are up to their necks in meatsteaks out of nowhere for some reason but continue to lack any real amount of energy cells. I was hoping to dump off the steaks so I could go back to selling energy cells, they're basically the only profitable good now with the entire market buried in meatsteaks and no real amounts of produced goods being made.

I've been dinking around with wc3 custom games. Surprisingly, there are enough people playing this ~13 year old game for the occasional game to start (and it's not even dota!).

Best time wasting game ever. Too bad they messed up sc2 with the damn region locking, else I'd probably be all over those custom games.

What's the point of something like that? It just limits who people can play with for seemingly no reason at all.

That's one of the bullshit reasons they gave.


The real reason is they're fighting imports, not encouraging them. Without the region lock, you could buy sc2 in a region where it's relatively cheap, bring it home, and play the game just like everyone else.

So, bullshit revenue protection. They lost my purchase, and several of my friend's across europe, south america, and australia/NZ.

Finally got Fate/Stay Night (IN A WAY THAT WAS LEGAL IN EVERY POSSIBLE WAY COUGH COUGH); about damn time. Pre-patched with english text, audio, and censor removal as well. (ALSO PERFECTLY LEGAL COUGH COUGH)

Well I was going to play HL blue Shift but apparently steam sucks so I cant play it.

EDIT: changed rendering mode and it worked past that part. The game was alright but really really short. Meh, LoL time I quess.

Just picked up Spirit Tracks and it is an absolutely magical experience. It just fills me with so much childlike glee. I don't know what else to say about the game other then that the train is both the best and worst part of it.
