But don't worry too hard (or think too hard about it) because it actually took me a few passes over the front page to figure out what the spoiler was... mostly because I was skimming over everything, but still : P

Someone go back in time and beat up whatever exec drove away Faust and Renzetti.

Really? The two potential episodes mentioned didn't sound feasible for a children's cartoon. The Scootaloo one would have been good, but it may have been too mature. And the other just doesn't sound like they could pull it off well.

Also, sometimes I think the creator worship goes too far. Could it have been the same without Faust? No. But it's the entire team that makes the show. Of course, I feel Season 2 has more good episodes than Season 1 does.

Could someone give me the cliffnotes on that video. Captions are no help at all.

So, it seems FiMFiction.net doesn't like certain types of stories. It doesn't like stories with ponies as supporting cast members, nor does it like non-narrative stories. Is there something actually wrong with non-narrative stories, or are they just being close-minded?

Probably the latter. Though it might be justified if it was really a story that happened to have ponies in it rather than a story specifically about ponies. Still rather shaky; was it a fic we would know? That might give a better idea.

I'm gonna tentatively give a nod toward Flying Dice's assessment, since I don't know jack about the situation.

By Ponies as supporting cast members, you mean its centric on non-MLP races/characters? And ponies are just there as well... NPC/fodder? (As in you can just replace the ponies with some random aliens/different species and still have the same story run its course?)

As for the non-narrative, I suppose you may be referring to the War of Equestrian Aggression? I suppose on a technicality, there is no story... yea, could be counted as world building... ?

It's the sequel to ++INCIDENT DELTA++, both of which are available on this forum (I think ++INCIDENT DELTA++ may be under Grim Dark, but I'm not sure).

It's a sequel. In this part, at least, ponies don't take the prime position.

That'd probably be the logic behind it, then. Sort of like how Caelum Contortum: Snarled Stories is essentially a Negima fic despite having characters from MLP, Madoka, and a few other 'verses. Admittedly, it's sort of closeminded, but not entirely absurd. There's always FF.net to go to, after all. Whole 'nother set of problems with that, though.

The fic is essentially MLP based. There are ponies and humans, they've got at least half of the 'main' characters by numbers alone.

Then yeah, s'probably just someone being a dick.

Well, I'm done with Season 1 of my episode-by-day rewatches. I really don't see why people were initially disappointed with The Best Night Ever as an episode, I find it quite fun and entertaining.

Of course, I only joined after Season 1 had completed, so I never went through the "waiting for the finale" hype there.

Indeed. I think Best Night Ever one of the best episodes in the series, and definitely a good one considering the string of episodes that came before (episodes 17-24 were a bit of a downswing, IMO. Only Party of One and Best Night Ever were top notch among the final episodes of the season).

Anyway, pulled my encyclopaedia of mythology off of the bookshelf for the first time in years and happened to open it to the entry for Fafnir. A man who turned into a big-ass dragon because of his greed. Sound familiar.

Also, why does Celestia have a labyrinth? To throw her prisoners into?

Eh, I didn't really like the Season 2 episodes as much as Season 1. About the only one I would actually watch again...Maybe Lesson Zero, I guess? Maybe the last episode of the finale pair.

And that's without having watched many of them at all.
