I enjoy loathing them for some reason. Besides, I loathe the characters in certain deeds that they do, not the show itself.

Since I heard that S3 has half the amounts of ep's I had a creeping thought in my mind that it's going to be the last one, but now that chance is completely eradicated. Feeling odd now as I had as a pessimist prepared for the worst while expecting good. Laughing

The themes have been slowly getting a bit darker, although there's plenty of lightheartedness still. I don't think they'll stop the slow darkening, although I don't think it's ever going to get particularly grim or dark, and definitely not grimdark. I imagine the show will be cancelled long before they kill off any non-villainous characters, for instance.

I was going to say that Adventure Time is light-hearted but then I saw I Remember You, The Lich, Finn The Human and Jake The Dog. Yeah... I hope it never gets that dark.

I always see ponies in a darker light because I immersed them in a segment of the omniverse that exists in my mind, so they're like a bastion of 'not that bad' in a sea of 'shit sucks, yo'.

I like darker ponies (at times) due to the contrast. Such contrast makes powerful stories if done right. Discord would've been a much less threatening villain in a darker setting, because half the reason he's scary is how malicious he is compared to almost everything else in the setting.

Depends; generally the authors ramp up Discord's evil to fit the setting.
