The Chat Function

As a bit of a heads-up for those who missed it, we apparently now have a chat. It's pretty empty, though. I think it's a nifty idea, but it's a waste of room if nobody uses it. So, hopefully this will get people checking it out, and everyone can write any comments, concerns, etc. in this thread and hope our almighty lord and savior reads them. Or, you know, God, but he barely does anything anyway.

Well, that was short-lived.
It would have worked better if it didn't auto-disconnect you. And, you know, people actually used it.

The chat would require a larger base of people to use it. We have at most, what, 8-10 active members? The 10 or so guests can't chat, so they aren't going to be in there.

Yeah, I was checking around and couldn't find a way to change the auto-disconnect. Eh, it gave us a few minutes of amusement anyhow.

Who's up for just making a skype room instead? It's something most people likely have on all the time anyway and with notifications and stuff there should be more traffic.

Well that didn't last long, though I didn't use it for other than spam venting.
Never used skype a lot but perhaps.

Skype or our own IRC. I think it would be much more comfortable than the Bay12 IRC for me, certainly, because I'm a lot more familiar with you all than with the Bay12 community.

There was a chat thing up on this site yesterday and this morning. It proved to be more trouble than it was worth, so now it's gone. We're discussing less annoying alternative options.

Yeah, kicking out people in the name of pony tends to go against the whole 'love and tolerate' schtick, not to mention it would net us even more detractors among the Bay.

More on the basis that it isn't pony-controlled, hostile takeover is an impossibility. Drama is more likely towill happen. Its for the B12 lower boards... not exactly the most friendly to ponies. Nor is pony the focal reason behind the population being there.
