Electoral college was constructed by rich people to make sure they held their power, just like a lot of the stuff in the Constitution and government.

I was sure I posted message here where I wondered what electoral college is and why america doesnt have "normal"voting system. Looks like I didn't.

The electoral college basically separates people into districts. For presidential elections, I think the districts are the states and Washington DC. But, anyway, each district has a certain number of electorates based roughly on population. The majority vote of the state determines who earns these electorates.

If California gets 51% Obama, and 49% Romney, the 49% help Obama win because that's what the majority of the state voted. Then you have a MASSIVE chunk helping Obama that don't want to.
