Let's take a look at Mika's song 'lollipop.' It can be interpreted as a life lesson to not rush relationships and suck all the candy off your lollipop - leaving you with nothing, or to just enjoy it for as long as it lasts. Or it can be interpreted as a wolf teaching little red riding hood to suck lollipops slowly.

If you're pedantic about pony anatomy, ponies get their shoulders horrifically dislocated about once every 3 seconds in the show. That's what happens when they turn into pseudo arms.
