She's everyone else's support. Always there to help out.

And when the support does their job well, you don't even notice they're there... it's only when they mess up that you do. Like a roadie or something. And AJ does her job well, so she's not noticed.

I don't think it's lack of notice so much as she's got the most mellow personality. She's the calmest and most sane of the mane six. Unfortunately, that makes her pretty mundane in a world where you can play some sports or fly with Rainbow Dash, sit down and read a good book or ten with Twilight, chill out with Fluttershy and her animals, party all day with Pinkie Pie, or get an awesome makeover with Rarity.
