Honestly, if they actually managed to make that, I'd probably watch it just to say I watched it. But, seriously... why the fuck would they do that? It's a waste of resources that's probably gonna get the Moral Guardians coming down on them.

...Although it would be a somewhat kid-friendly way to introduce youngsters to the basic concepts of genitals and differences between males and females.

Listen, I recall being 4 years old and picking out a book from the little kids' section of the library that explained all about the differences between boys and girls. Complete with real-life pictures. Of several age groups, including some that would in certain other contexts be illegal. Both male and female. If that shit could get into circulation, then I see no problems with genital-bearing ponies.

Even if there wasn't a social taboo against genitalia, I'm pretty sure ponies wouldn't have any shown in-show. It's a lot of detail that doesn't add anything. Same reason ponies aren't fuzzy and don't have visible hooves.

There's simply no reason to add those details. Well other than the obvious.

Agreed. It'd be like adding the minute tick marks to a pocketwatch which is being shown from several meters away: yeah, you can do it, but unless it is the focal point of a shot, it's essentially meaningless detail, extra work that doesn't need to be done/

To be fair, no one who writes a mary sue knows it's a mary sue. If they try to write one, it's a parody sue.

And as a side note, the "special snowflake" term reads to me to have the opposite meaning of what people intend. Snowflakes are extremely varied, but in subtle ways. Also, though snowflakes do melt, beauty is often transient, existing for a short while.

So if someone called me a special snowflake, I'd respond more along the lines of "neat!" instead of the taking it as the intended insult of being full of myself.
