Friesden looks mighty different from the design I envisioned for Frieden, which is odd assuming they're both the same character.

If you haven't noticed, emotionally moving scenes aren't exactly my fortè. I can't get a feel on such scenes, so I'm unlikely to render them well. But I could try regardless, of course.

I'm drawing Frieden and Rarity anyway, if you haven't noticed that as well.

Also also, a quick rundown of the scene, anyone? Just these two "affectionately nuzzling" each other? In the hospital? (With Starkey watching?)

Oh, and Armok? I'd really like to try and draw RD handling reentry, but nothing I can think up comes off impressive enough. I mean, a reentry would look exactly the same as very fast flight, just with a lot more flames. Without context, anything short of showing a really distant shot with RD streaking across the dark blue star-specked sky wreathed in flames and forming Rainbooms in her wake as she slows down, mist-covered landscape in the distance below, nothing is going to work - and if you can't guess by the way I just described that scene, I'm never going to be able to do it justice with my skills.

I completely disagree with you here. That half-finished one of RD and Scoots is really emotionally charged, as well as being excellently rendered.

It is, also, an experiment. I will not declare myself capable of something until I have something complete to prove it - to myself, if not everyone else.

(also, it's a sketch. Sketches are mechanically easier to make, so they usually end up looking better than the finished picture for me. Which is why I never erase sketches from my works, preferring to use a blocking layer even if it's less practical)
