I think that if I could combine the good qualities of both vids (jokes/coherence) I would have pretty work of Hitler parody in my hands.

It was relevant to the current events of the fandom. When Derpy spoke everyone was happy, but a few people (probably parents of the target audience) got pissy over her sounding like a retard and being named 'Derpy' (They thought it was making fun of retards). The iTunes version had a different voice actor for Derpy and had her name no longer mentioned.

Also, the episode for that weekend was delayed to the next weekend.

I thought the whole thing wonderfully indicative of the problem of positive discrimination. Nothing Derpy did would be offensive if a "normal" person did it; they'd just be considered kooky. Give her wall eyes and a wacky voice though, and it can't be that she's just kooky, it's really that they're making fun of disabled people!

But I like her new voice...
